Switch Time Jazz is a big band based in Elk Grove Village, a northwest suburb of Chicago. We specialize in swing and Latin jazz, and feature vocalists such as Lee Stevens and Ken White. About UsIn the early 1970's, Elk Grove and Schamburg area high schools produced some of the finest jazz musicians in the Midwest, instilling in them a deep appreciation and love for this exciting art form. Swingin' to the sounds of Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich and Woody Herman lit a flame that has burned for years. As these students grew into music teachers, engineers, accountants, and business people, the desire to keep the Big Band Jazz music alive led to the formation of the Switch Time Jazz Ensemble, a 17-piece group along with our Grammy winning vocalist Lee Stevens. Whether you sit back at one of our summer concerts or join us for some serious dance music, we're sure it will be a memorable event performed by the excellent local musicians of Switch Time Jazz! |
